Control is a very interesting and complex topic. The better we understand it, the better equipped we are to handle life. Many people have written about it, from the stoics, to the catholics, to (I am sure) millions of others. Understanding the concept of control and how we can utilize it to our advantage can be the difference between sleeping at night and lying awake worrying. It can be the difference between happiness and fear.
In this series we are going to discuss the concept of control and its many aspects. We are going to look at how the control is at the forefront of belief systems and inner turmoil. We will be discussing how understanding control can positively contribute to mental health.
While we are learning these concepts we are going to have to repeat them to ourselves (sometimes serval times a day) in order for them to stick. We will be redoing years of bad habits and automatic thoughts. While it seems difficult it can actually be fun and rewarding. I hope you like what I have to say, but I won’t worry about it too much because, after all, I cannot control what you like.
